Trade Desk Manager

This person will be involved in the management and support of production trading desks running proprietary trading software. He she will take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they affect production trading. The Trade Desk Manager will work closely with traders and trading system operations members in order to identify software bugs and properly relay that information back to the development and QA teams for patching. This person will analyze day-to-day activities and suggest tools and software enhancements that will provide benefit to the traders they support. He she will have a close relationship with the trading desk.

Responsibilities:

Define and document feature requests and software bugs
Work with traders on the trade desk and educate them on new software features
Define priority on in flight projects and know communicate project status
Translate priorities into action plans
Proactively address performance improvements
Maintain system diagrams with hardware and software dependencies with trading systems operations
Communicate when new releases are scheduled, maintain daily issue log, drive resolutions and become proficient in trading tools

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or some education with equivalent work experience
Knowledge of Unix command shell navigation and basic SQL queries
Working knowledge of FIX protocol, VB, C++, C# and or Java
Experience with Solaris and Linux scripting - certification a plus
Electronic trading experience is desirable
Work in high pressure environments and analyze and solve problems quickly
