Hello,
My name is Christopher Handy and I am the Executive Director of Innovative Community Action Network (I.C.A.N.) a 501 (c) 3 non-profit community based program from Louisiana USA for at-risk and troubled youths. We exist to meet the needs of the children within the community. We’re here to inspire, motivate, encourage and to provide mentoring to both boys and girls. We will also provide training to citizens so that they may in turn become mentors, this will enable them to use their talents to make a difference in their communities.

The I.C.A.N. Mentoring Program was established to address the problems and needs relating to the growing isolation of youths within our community between 7-17 years of age. At-risk and troubled youths are often deprived of the parental guidance and support needed for the development into a productive adulthood. We at I.C.A.N. view mentoring as a positive opportunity for many citizens within our community to contribute to the reclamation of our youths within our society through realistic and flexible volunteerism efforts.

Here are some of I.C.A.N. Mentoring Program proud achievements since being in existence:
(1)Youths in our mentoring program academic grades have improved by 29%. (2) I.C.A.N. Mentoring Program has been the motivating factor for hundreds and hundreds of youths to enroll into colleges, community colleges, trade schools, the military, finding stable employment, and becoming productive adults in the community. (3) Youths in our program are less likely to drop out of school and as a matter of fact school attendance has increased by 39%. (4) Youths in our program behavior have improved by 37%. (5) Youths that have graduated from our program are less likely to commit a violent crime or get involved in any criminal activities.

However, our funding has been cut and our program is on the verge of termination unless we obtain funding very soon. I am seeking any and all support to continue the good work of reaching at-risk and troubled youths. So take time and visit our website at http: icanmentoringprogram.homestead.com and please make a generous donation to our program to help us to continue helping these children. I thank you in advance for your support. Yes We Can Change The World As a Whole, One Child At A Time.
