Green Builders Cultural Adventure Development Program @ The Hide Out! Retreat Nepal

All are welcome on a journey of Cultural Discovery, Adventure and
Development in the far Eastern Kanchenjunga Himalayan Foothills.
The Green Builders program is a mammoth 3 week program that is
designed to get you out and away from the tourist hordes and to show
you what The Real Nepal, its people and their cultures are all about; whilst learning some new skills and giving a little back to the local communities.

The program is located in eastern Nepal in a region bordered by Tibet
to the North and Sikkim to the east, at the most far out wilderness
adventure resort of its kind in the Nepal Himalayas The Hide Out!
From our secluded hillside paradise the Green Builders program takes
shape and involves the Adventure Volunteer in many aspects of hillside and mountain life as well as involving them in a worth while
project that will directly change the local peoples lives.

The program is broken down into Adventure, Development, New Skills and Relaxation.

The Adventure Section includes a mountain crafts section, wilderness
treks to The Hide Out! Retreat, Pung Pungi Changa a 140m vertical
drop jungle waterfall and Pathibharas Mountain Temple (3795m) the
most sacred temple in Eastern Nepal and a great location for up-close
views of the Kanchenjunga Himalayas. (At 8,586m Kanchenjunga is the
third highest mountain in the world).

The Development Section will focus on a local village development
project and may involve the building of Water Supplies Tanks
Toilets Temples Irrigation Sports Facilities Information Transfer Mechanisms Foot Path Repair etc In each project the volunteer team will work together with the local community and craftsmen to make pre-discussed plans and ideas a reality. Volunteers will be involved at all levels from labour jobs to project management duties and logistics. It is a true team effort supported by a Project Manager and Supervisor who know the project and the people you will be working with.

The New Skills Section will instruct you on the basic language and
cultural orientation, mountain skills, local project works and etiquette (the way things are done locally), Green Building how to build with Bamboo, Wood, Grass, Mud, Stone etc and how to make your own tools. Hillside Crafts and hillside living will explain how the local people do what they do and why.

The Relaxation Section covers your needs as a human being. All work,
adventure and learning Makes Jack a Tired and Dull Boy A combination
of The Hide Outs one in a million location and its facilities will get you back on track, helping you relax; fishing, swimming, playing games, reading, sports, bird watching etc The wonderful meals, great local staff and the feeling of being at home away from home will help you recuperate and help you get even more from your Real Nepal experience.

We believe this is the best thing going on in Nepal! Many people offer
school teaching placements and work in orphanages, we are the only
people trying to make grass roots changes to local peoples lives all
