PAIN AFTER SHINGLES IS SERIOUS PAIN
You may be eligible to be in a clinical reserach study if you suffer from the pain experienced after having shingles, also known as post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). The purpose of this study is to see if an investigational pain drug works safely to reduce PHN pain.
You may be able to be in the study if you:
-Are at least 18 years old
-Have had a diagnosis of PHN and associated pain for at least 3 months
-Are able to stop taking other treatments for PHN while in the study

Anyone who has ever had chickenpox is at risk for the development of shingles, although it occurs most commonly in people over the age of 60. It has been estimated that up to 500,000 cases of shingles occur each year in the U.S.
